Psychologist
Pedro has been a registered psychologist in Australia since 2013 and overseas since 2009. He prides himself on having helped people across all ages, from children as young as 4 years old, all the way to the elderly.
With work experience in psychology clinics, schools, forensic settings, he has worked in long term psychotherapy as well as crisis counselling, and assists clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, separation, domestic violence (behaviour change or trauma informed counselling for victims) and others.
With a kind and gentle approach, he likes to provide clients with a safe space where they can be heard and heal. He uses focused psychological strategies, (e.g. motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, ACT, etc.) to assist clients in managing more acute states of mind and overcoming their difficulties; but he also has a passion for psychodynamic psychotherapy (psychoanalysis); which means he is available to assist clients in transforming deeply ingrained ongoing patterns, for long term benefits.
Due to an inexhaustible curiosity to understand people and their particular needs Pedro Calafiori is happy to assist people regardless of gender or cultural background and respects each individuals’ timing. Pedro can deliver counselling and psychological interventions in English and Portuguese.
