Dr Joyce Vromen has a warm, collaborative approach and a contagious enthusiasm for discovering each client’s strengths and areas of struggle. She works with children, adolescents, and adults. She is experienced with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and has had some training in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) model.
Joyce has completed several university qualifications in (clinical) psychology, including a master and bachelor degree in clinical psychology and a PhD in psychology from the University of Queensland. She has worked at prestigious institutes like the Queensland Brain Institute and Oxford university before joining Therapy House. She has more than 15 years experience in mental health research and clinical practice across hospital, university, and private practice settings. She specialises in working with clients who are affected by anxiety, fear, or depressed mood as well as clients affected by neurological or neurodevelopmental difficulties.
She is also a mother to two school-aged kids and knows first-hand how challenging the parenting journey can be at times. Joyce enjoys reading a good book, Spending time with her family and friends, and go for a swim or hike to keep healthy.
